The staff is polite and very helpful. Enjoyed the food and will return for more. Special thanks to the staff for making a surprise birthday party memorable with beautiful decorations. The Ship @ Batu Ferringhi is a fantastic restaurant with great food and service. They offer a variety of delicious dishes including roasted lamb rack, Aussie flown sirloin steak, and grilled salmon. The lamb and steaks are highly recommended, while the salmon may be slightly overcooked for some. The service staff is attentive and prompt. The restaurant itself is in an actual ship and has a fun 1980s atmosphere. Overall, it is a must-visit restaurant with a rating of 5/5 for food, service, environment, and atmosphere. Don’t miss the chance to try their amazing seafood, especially the live lobster experience.

Kak Ani Seafood is a popular restaurant in Batu Feringghi. They offer a variety of delicious seafood dishes, including their famous ikan bakar. The restaurant doesn’t have delivery services on Grab or Foodpanda, but they managed to deliver our food through Grab by request. We were impressed with their service as they went the extra mile to deliver our food to our hotel in Georgetown. Despite some delay due to traffic, the food arrived warm and we had an enjoyable dining experience in the comfort of our hotel. We highly recommend trying the Salted Egg Fried Calamari, Chilli Crab, and 3 Rasa Fried Siakap Masak Pedas. Kak Ani Seafood is a must-go spot for seafood lovers visiting Batu Feringghi. It’s been our go-to place for the past 15 years whenever we visit Penang. The restaurant is located by the beach, and it’s a nice place to dine, especially during sunset. You can even catch a glimpse of people enjoying horseback rides along the beach. While the food is decent, there is room for improvement. The restaurant may have received a positive review in a local TV show in the past, but the chef might have changed since then. We hope they can continue to improve and attract more customers in the future.

5. Beach Corner Seafood
Beach Corner Seafood is a must-try. The Kam Heong squid and fish dishes are flavorful and buttery. The Popiah and noodles are also delightful. The service is prompt, and the atmosphere by the beach is great. The only improvement needed is the prawns with salted eggs. It is conveniently located near Hard Rock Hotel and offers a beautiful sunset view. The lady couldn’t find my booking but still accommodated us. The la-la and sweet potato leaves dishes are especially delicious.

Some of their best dishes to try include the mee hoon tomyam, kuey teow kungfu, nasi goreng cili, nasi goreng daging, and the naan with delicious kuah. The food is flavorful and served in generous portions. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The place is clean and they also offer fresh mango lassi and pineapple juice. It is a great option for those staying at Bayview and Hard Rock hotels, as it is conveniently located. Support the business and enjoy the good food at Enca Restaurant!

8. Makan Kitchen
Makan Kitchen is an efficient and helpful restaurant, especially during peak hour breakfast buffet. However, one supervisor should control their temper and avoid scolding staff in front of guests. The food varieties are excellent, and the atmosphere is great, with a beautiful garden reminiscent of a fine dining place, adorned with different plants.
Some must-try dishes include the mushroom soup, crab meat bites, and lamb shank. These dishes are well-prepared and beautifully presented. The lamb meat is tender and flavorful, and the crab meat bites are delicious. Although the prices are above average, they are worth it.
During our stay at Doubletree Penang in July 2022 for 3 nights, we enjoyed breakfast at Makan Kitchen every morning. The daily spread offers a variety of options, including salads, Malaysian cuisine, pastries, and beverages, catering to different preferences. We are grateful for the friendly and attentive Makan Kitchen and hotel staff. Special thanks to Usa, who went out of her way to provide us with a cake and Tambun cookies, making our stay at Doubletree Penang truly memorable. We hope to return soon in the future, Insha Allah.
